- Summary:
- Anodized and chemical conversion coated aluminum must each be properly post-treated in order to restore corrosion protection and ensure paint adhesion after plastic media blasting. Optimal results for anodized aluminum are obtained by solvent-wiping the plastic media blasted surface with an alcoholic/phosphoric acid solution, followed by treatment with a chemical conversion coating.Plastic media blasting of chemical conversion coated aluminum removes the protective film. Original performance may only be obtained by stripping and reprocessing
