Summary:
AbstractTodays radio designer faces many important decisions when designing an Electronically Tuned Radio (ETR) of which selecting the microcontroller is one of the most critical. Certainly, the selection of the right microcontroller not only increases system performance, but also reduces board space power consumption and cost. The 8-bit core oriented microcontrollers from National Semiconductor are designed with integrated features which will provide system flexibility and higher integration while meeting the above criteria. These microcontrollers represent an excellent complement to the other standard devices in forming a complete radio design
