- Summary:
- This report describes a measurement system for continuous registration of the oil consumption of a reciprocating engine, and presents methods and results of determining the oil consumption at individual operating levels of "rapid" alternating load programs (stages lasting max 3 mins). The report further draws attention to the problem that the oil consumption of an engine at one operating level depends not only on the operating level itself but to a large extent on the other operating levels of an alternating load program, on the previous history of the oil, and on the oil itself
