- Summary:
- Current computer capabilities have developed to the point where the modeling of sheet metal forming is feasible. To do so three individual elements of the process must be understood. They may be modeled or the results may be input in the form of empirical data. The three elements are: 1) binder wrap, 2) draw-bead restraining force, 3) the forming process. This paper will attempt to give an appreciation of the current level of progress in each of these areas and the extent to which these results can be integrated to accurately analyze the overall forming process
