- Summary:
- TOYOTA has recently developed a 3.0 litre diesel engine "1Z" for TOYOTA forklift trucks "X300" (payload 2 to 3 tons) to attain high performance, low noise and vibration, high reliability and low fuel consumption. The lZ engine is a direct injection diesel engine featuring lipped toroidal shape cavity combustion chambers and a Bosch VE type injection pump. The 1Z engine has a gear driven integral type PTO (power-take-off) unit for driving hydraulic pumps and other accessory components. The odor of D.I. diesel engine exhaust gas is worse than on I.D.I. Reduction of exhaust odor was one of the most important development objectives, because forklift trucks are often used indoors. TOYOTA has achieved excellent levels on D.I. diesel engines by matching the injection system without sacrifice of power and fuel consumption
