- Summary:
- A new type of zinc coating line in which a zinc vapor is continuously deposited on to a steel strip in a vacuum has been installed at the Hanshin Works of Nisshin Steel Company, Limited in 1985. This is the first time that a zinc coating line of this type is being used in a commercial production line. With a maximum line speed of 200m/minutes, the high production capability is obtained by a high rate of zinc evaporation and deposition. This type of production of zinc coated steel strip in Japan costs less than that of the electrolytic galvanizing process because of a lower variable cost, lower electric cost, higher productivity and is a fully continuous process. This unit can be attached to an existing In Line Annealing type hot dip galvanizing line
