Summary:
It is described how tie transmissibility of a seat can be predicted from measurements of the seat dynamics obtained without a person sitting on the seat. The method is illustrated by comparing measured and predicted transmissibilities for eight people with one seat, as well as for one person with eight different seats. The measured and predicted seat transmissibilities are similar. Reasons for possible discrepancies when using the method are considered and it is shown that vibration magnitude is an important variable
