- Summary:
- Titanium, a metal commercially developed and driven by aerospace applications, is being increasingly used for industrial and consumer applications. With increasing numbers of titanium alloys and increased design information, improved performance is being achieved by designing systems utilizing its unique combination of properties. Widespread acceptance has been limited by initial cost relative to other common metals. Emerging technologies will make titanium more attractive by decreasing raw material costs, improving fabrication efficiency and increasing productivity. The utilization of new low cost alloys is expected to be attractive for widespread commercial applications
