- Summary:
- Application of a fluid power system in feed mill design offers a high degree of precision in metering of materials from a multiplicity of conveyors. Selection of relatively simple, highly reliable, readily available hydraulic components can give computer compatibility with a minimum of custom design. Electrical and electronic components can be isolated in a dust controlled environment, enhancing the ability of the complete system to meet safety (dust-ignition) requirements. It is not the purpose of this paper to present a complete set of design calculations for the application of a hydraulic power system to a feed mill installation. It is, rather, the purpose of this paper to present innovative applications of design features inherent in hydraulic power systems to problems inherent in feed mill design
