This paper summarizes tests conducted by the Joint Committee of WRTB/PCSA. The emphasis is placed on identifying the variables attributable to causing blocks to spin on cranes with multiple-part reeving. Data from both series of tests are incorporated to develop the theories used to predict the fall lengths at which block spinning will occur.
