- Summary:
- Near Term fuel cell power sources for full-size and small buses are analyzed using specified Department of Transportation and actual duty cycles. Powerplant weights and layouts in the buses are determined using existing phosphoric acid fuel cell technology in a fuel cell/battery hybrid arrangement. Advanced phosphoric acid and proton-exchange-membrane fuel cell systems for full-size buses are discussed. Five year projections of performance, weight, and volume of fuel cells are the bases for advanced system performance
