Summary:
Machines with hydraulically activated traction clutches may be started in an unsafe manner by shorting across the terminals of the starter solenoid. The clutch engagement override valve prevents engagement of the clutch upon starting until the operator has depressed and released the clutch pedal once. The clutch engagement override valve ensures that the clutch is disengaged when engine start occurs regardless of the manner of starting. Deere and Company has installed the valve on all 50 Series Quad Range tractors. The use of the patent was extended by Deere and Company on a no-cost basis to the industry
