Fluorocarbon elastomers in the form of 0' ring seals, hoses, et cetera are widely used in gas turbine engines and hence come into contact with lubricants approved for use in those engines.Reports of oil/fluorocarbon elastomer incompatibility have been made which have required investigation in order to determine why such problems occur.
