Summary:

This paper considers the development of finite element modelling schemes enabling the simulation of rolling tires. In particular, the moving Lagrangian type strategy is extended to 3-D type isoparametric elements. Because of its generality, the formulation can handle, kinematic and material nonlinearity, as well as, viscoelastic behavior. Overall, the procedure enables the modelling of 3-D rolling tires. To benchmark the procedure, a full tire simulation is treated. The results of this work are discussed in the paper
