Summary:

The analysis of windshear related accidents and incidents during the takeoff and approach phases of flight provide insight into the windshear problem. Piloted simulator recreations of accident scenarios provide a pilots view and an engineering view of the causal factors for these occurrences. These analyses have provided further insight into the difficult piloting task that a windshear encounter presents to the flight crew.
