Summary:
Frame structures can be excited by engine natural frequencies. This excitation can be minimized by detuning with rubber mounts. A method for obtaining mounts with desired isolation utilizing analytical methods is shown. First, mount locations, loading and stiffness are estimated. Dynamic analysis is used to determine mount system natural frequencies. These are compared with possible operating frequencies to assure detuning. The mounts are evaluated for fatigue life, desired spring rate, and isolation
