- Summary:
- Well defined and proven principles that have helped shape the destiny of the earth-moving industry in the past have given way to the fast growing advanced technology of today. A feeling of in-house self-sufficiency has emerged neglecting to a great extent the need of mutual understanding of customer requirements and needs. This paper discusses several basic principles not intended as a "cure-all" for all of industry problems, but rather as stepping stones for future industry needs and growth. These principles are: "Going Where the Action Is", "Problem Solving", "Quality in Design", and "Innovation". A harnessing of the "old" and "new" will provide the basic tools in providing the machines and needs of our industry for the future
