Summary:
Since 1981 RENIX has produced for RENAULT a digital ignition system with knock detection and advance correction capabilities. The knock detection uses the signal from a wide band accelerometre mounted on the cylinder head. Good signal to noise ratio is obtained primarily through angular discrimination. RENIX's module technology leads to high performance to cost radio.The anti knock capability has now been included in RENAULT'S latest engine control system to appear in the USA on MY 85. The presence of a powerful microprocessor allowed the development of an advanced control strategy which includes individual cylinder corrections and adaptive control.
