- Summary:
- Variations in a vehicle crash pulse were studied using an occupant simulation computer model. To a basic crash pulse were added sine pulses of various shapes. Over 250 simulations were made. The results show that when considering the effect of pulse variations, the most important parameter is the velocity content of the variation. This result is used to suggest a velocity tolerance band method, which has advantages compared to the traditional acceleration tolerance band method for crash pulse specifications
