- Summary:
- Within ESA Study Contract an advanced heat rejection system Technology Demonstration Model (TDM) has been designed, manufactured and tested by Aeritalia Space Sector. The TDM consists of a fluid loop comprising two radiator panels and two thermal control valves to regulate the temperature of the panels. The system is controlled by an electronic Control Unit actuating the control valves on the basis of the signals from pressure and temperature sensors. The Phase III of the study has been centered on the demonstration of the functional test performance of the TDM in vacuum against the test prediction carried out prior to the test. The paper presents a description of the loop radiator system, an explanation of the Test Procedure and an investigation of the major test results
