The results of these projects with differing emission requirements are described. Emissions, fuel economy and driveability have been optimized. The electronically controlled functions are: - start and warm up control - acceleration enrichement - idle speed control - deceleration cut off and control, engine stop The extension of the ECOTRONIC by closed loop control at stoichio-metric air/fuel ratio (Lambda=1) and a combination of mixture formation and ignition and self-diagnosis are shown
