Summary:
The latest concept of pusher type articulated busses needsthorough investigations in the dynamic behaviour of the vehicle.K\amssbohrer developed an articulated unit with "Schenk"coupling for dynamic testing.An integrated braking system allows full control of thehorizontal movements between the two bus-bodies. Critical drivingsituations were simulated, up to the limits of the system. The mostcritical situations are: accelerating and braking on low frictionsurface and swerving at high speeds. It can be shown that allconditions can be controlled through the correct application of thebraking system in the coupling. The system seems to be suitable fora wide range of service conditions for articulated busses
