Summary:
To study diesel fuel spray behavior at high injection pressures, an experimental study was undertaken to investigate spray penetration and spray angles at constant injection pressures. Fuel spray penetration and spray angles were found to depend on the injection pressure, density of the background gas, orifice dimensions, et cetera A relation, based on non-dimensional parameters, is derived to predict diesel spray tip penetration. The calculated tip penetration is found to agree well with the experimental results
