- Summary:
- The development of a new type of hydro elastic engine mount has resulted in superior performance as compared to conventional all rubber mounts. These mounts feature an integrated hydraulic device, which brings the often required high level of damping together, creating a solution for acoustical problems in several cases. This paper will explain the behavior of a particular type of hydraulic engine mount and will emphasize the advantages which occur when installing these mounts on a car. Conventional all rubber mounts have now reached their performance limits; they can no longer meet the most stringent requirements set forth by the current tendency in automotive engineering. In numerous cases, the hydraulic mounts emerge as the unique answer to engine suspension problems
