THE PRESSURE-WAVE-SUPERCHARGER Comprex®, compared to the alternatives of the exhaust-gas-turbocharger and the mechanical blower, is new in the field of passenger car application. The method of how to select the appropriate PWS for an engine and how to match it to the requirements of the engine and vehicle designer is described. Recommendations are made for those components which effect the function and/or efficiency of the supercharger, and therefore, the engine performance.
