A "service environment" will be defined and an "S/N" curve will be developed for the component. "Material Characteristics" will be emperically defined, and fatigue life calculations will be made using several techniques. Actual "component fatigue tests" will be conducted and compared with calculated fatigue lives. Attempts will be made to introduce much of the jargon and vocabulary used in fatigue life analysis
