- Variable stroke power control for Stirling engines offers a number of advantages among which are attractive torque characteristics, high part-load efficiency, the ability to avoid the reciprocating rod seals, simplicity and compactness.This paper describes the simplest way to implement the variable stroke power control, namely the variable swashplate activated by a hydraulic stroke converter. The hardware comprising the system, the principle of operation and the various advantages are described herein
