This paper describes the conduct of the Coordinating Research Council's (CRC) automotive emission test program to determine the effects of methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT) octane improvement fuel additive on hydrocarbon exhaust emissions. This program was performed under contract to the CRC and was supported financially by the American Petroleum Institute and the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association. The results of the program are presented separately (1,2).*
