Summary:
To assist development of EDS, a software tool for pre-study and design has been created, that allows fast modeling of the EDS, starting with generic data. New ways of EDS-representation have been introduced in order to describe network connectivity as well as logical grouping into variants or subnets. To gain information about complexity, methods of graph theory have been adapted. The information is combined to form a metric, called EDS Judgement Value, to analyze and optimize the EDS architecture. Approaches toward automatic EDS validation have been investigated and have been used to demonstrate fast feedback to the designer
