We have developed a new compressor for car air conditioners. This compressor is a swash plate type compressor with one-sided compression, having a continuously variable displacement mechanism.It has been developed from previous variable displacement compressors, and it encompasses a simple structure and attractive features, such as excellent NV (Noise and Vibration) characteristics, displacement controllability and reliability; while at the same time driving to a maximum of 9,200 rpm.This paper will describe development principles, structures, and special features of this new type compressor
