Summary:
A 500cm3 2-cyUnder roadracer with high cost-performance was developed to stimulate the motorcycle roadracing community. Its driving performance is comparable to a 4-cylinder racer's. The main goal was to give this new 2-cylinder 500cm3 roadracer better cornering performance comparable to a 250cc racer's, which would supplement its lower power compared to a 4-cylinder racer's. First, various theoretical studies on roadability (driving performance) was conducted. Various weight-reducing designs were, then, adopted in engine and frame parts, and detailed testing was conducted. Through these studies and tests, a 2-cylinder 500cm3 roadracer, the size of which is similar to a 250cm3 racer's, was developed
