- Summary:
- Desire for increased ride comfort through elimination of fatigue caused by low frequency noise and vibration on one hand, and the market demand for smaller and lighter vehicles with enhanced fuel economy without sacrificing safety and comfort on the other hand have forced automotive manufacturers to search for advanced technology in the noise and vibrations areas. This paper presents results of a unique active vibro-acoustic system that handles both random and repetitive excitations. The combined pseudo-feedforward feedback control technology as well as actuator designs capable of performing at low and high frequencies have provided the key elements for our unique active control system. Experimental results demonstrating successful implementation of the active vibro-acoustic technology on different vehicles are presented
