- Summary:
- As the use of polypropylene and other polyolefin-type plastics increases in automotive interior applications, the demand for coatings capable of adhering to these substrates increases. Tightening of VOC regulations makes older solvent-borne technology impractical. A one-coat waterborne coating for polypropylene offers performance without the high VOC of solventborne systems and also needs no primer, which is required by current waterborne coatings. This paper will compare one-coat waterborne technology with that which is currently available in order to demonstrate the advantages this new technology possesses
