Federal law and age will force the conversion of 50 million lines of Jovial to Ada during the next 10 years at a cost of more than $1 billion [1]. This paper details the findings of a Jovial to Ada software translation study. It identifies translation issues and presents the results and conclusions of the study. This study was conducted at McDonnell Douglas Aerospace (MDA) in Long Beach and a detail report was developed [2].
