- Summary:
- A precision guided close cultivation along rows of cotton, combined with a direct spray of MSMA, significantly reduced purple nutsedge early in the season. A precision guided cultivator equipped with in-row weeding devices reduced the number of morning glory weeds in test plots, although the differences were not significant at the .05 level. The guidance system allowed cultivator operation at higher travel speeds than was possible without it. This higher productivity more than offsets the cost of the guidance system and in-row weeding devices
