- Summary:
- Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) was developed by the European Eureka-147 project. This system has many technical advantages of modulation coding (COFDM), error correction (Viterbi decode) and source coding (MUSICAM). DAB is high speed data broadcasting to mobile vehicles and can serve CD quality audio programs and various data to drivers. The receiver is designed using multiplex general purpose DSPs and consists of an RF part, OFDM decoder, Viterbi decoder and MUSICAM decoder. In this paper, DAB system descriptions and our first prototype DAB receiver are introduced. In addition some considerations about DAB receiver design and DAB future possibilities are also described
