- Summary:
- The difficulty of gaining adhesion to non-polar substrates such as TPO is well known in the automotive industry. A new class of materials is being developed by Shell Chemical Company which offer a novel approach for gaining direct adhesion to a variety of non-polar substrates. This approach which involves formulating a non-polar coating that adheres well to untreated non-polar substrates such as TPO will be discussed. This discovery may open up opportunities in other applications such as adhesives, inks, and foams; as well as the versatility to adhere to other polymeric surfaces
