- Summary:
- It is known that the crew life-support system (LSS) working on board the orbital station (OS) MIR is based both on supplies and circulation of main substances providing regeneration of atmosphere and water in flight. The system of gas composition providing (SGCP) plays an important role in LSS of the orbital station. On the whole it includes the system of gas impurities removal from air; the system of carbon dioxide removal and its concentrating; the system to obtain oxygen; complementary blocks and complexes (figure 1) [1].These subsystems are continuously functioning on board the orbital complex. After the module KWANT was created, the system of electrochemical oxygen providing by means of water electrolyzes was put into function. However, as the block of carbon dioxide and hydrogen processing is lacking on board the orbital station, carbon dioxide from the concentrator containing high levels of oxygen and hydrogen from an electrolyzer are discharged into outside the board and are excluded from the circulation of main substances, which is not suitable
