- Summary:
- We present an approach to wrapping legacy simulation codes with CORBA IDLs based on the DEVS (Discrete Event System Specification) formalism that allows their integration into a heterogeneous, distributed, and collaborative modeling and simulation infrastructure. A family of CORBA-based architectures is discussed that offers a unifying framework enabling legacy codes to be revitalized and execute within modern object-oriented modeling and simulation environments. This is third of a series of papers on interfacing discrete and continuous models presented at this conference. The others are "Systems Theory Background for Continuous/Discrete Integration" and "Interfacing Discrete and Continuous Models for Simulation and Control"
