Summary:
1.0 ABSTRACTTraction Control Systems (TCS's) are becoming increasingly present in today's automobiles. These systems strive to improve the traction and stability characteristics of the vehicle by actively controlling wheel slip. Limited Slip Differentials (LSD's) offer a passive method (no control system required) of improving the traction and stability of the vehicle, by appropriately proportioning wheel torque. This paper will investigate the compatibility of these two approaches by demonstrating the function and performance of various LSD/TCS combinations
