- Summary:
- A study was conducted in 1991 on nickel-hydrogen (NiH2) battery cells to assess their use for space-based radar satellites. Current NiH2 and related programs were investigated. Cell performance data were assessed, focusing on pulsed-load operation, cell design factors, and life expectancy. A need for pulsed-load testing of candidate cells was identified, especially to characterize their effective series resistance, dynamic impedance, and possible degradations. A NiH2 Cell Test Program was planned and will start in mid-1992
