Practical experiences regarding the measurement with a new oil consumption meter on the engine test bed are reported especially with regard to short measurement times. A continuous level sensor with a newly developed high resolution capacitive principle has been used. Important experiences about influences to the oil level within the engine sump during engine operation have been gained.
