SummaryTraditionally the shock absorber development is done in two steps:The first step is a trial and error process until we get the best relation between the hydraulic oil flow area restriction and the specified reactive forces. In this step we use sophisticated laboratory machines as dynamometers with strength cells.The second step consists on the adjust of the feasible model defined on laboratory. We use again the trial and error process to get the shock absorber performance evaluation. During this evaluation we check also the noise of the suspension and it safety against the suspension stability. Sometimes we have to do modifications on the suspension geometry caused by shock absorber technical limitations.This paper describes a computer method to modeling shock absorber that gives us the possibility to evaluate the shock absorber performance (for conventional, pressurized and electronic shock absorbers). By this way we obtain the hydraulic oil flow cross area inside the shock absorber in function of the specified forces. This procedure improves the elapsed time to do the first step explained above. Another advantage is the cost reduction relative to laboratory's research.This paper is finished showing a real case, comparing the results get by computational processing against the real results get by dynamometers
