Summary:
An acceleration sensor that generates an output voltage proportional to acceleration has been developed. We invented a new, high sensitivity, differential transformer with an efficient magnetic circuit through analysis of the magnetic field in the sensor. This differential transformer design provides sensitivity approximately eleven times greater than that of conventional differential transformer designs, resulting in excellent frequency and sensitivity characteristics which are trade offs. The 4WD Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) which was developed using this acceleration sensor, exhibited greatly improved performance on ice-covered roads
