- Summary:
- The development of an airplane with all its complexity, requires a great deal load cases verification that are called "The Flight and Ground Loads Envelope."Besides that, the Certification Process requires that the structure must be tested.Because of the high costs involved, the Engineering Department has to select carefully which load conditions have to be tested. The software CRITICUS was developed to help the structural engineer in the Critical load cases selection process by using the results obtained with the software MSC/NASTRAN (A Finite Element Method Analysis Program). This software does not intend to be a Structural analysis program, but an auxiliary tool to help the engineer select among hundreds of load cases, the ones that need to be tested. CRITICUS allows the engineer to select an implemented Engineering Criteria that can be applied to some region of the structure being analysed. The software also generates critical load cases data that can be plotted on the Finite Elements Model with other integrated softwares
