Summary:
The evolution of commercial vehicles over the years, primarily in the area of aerodynamics, high torque low RPM engines, higher road speed and higher pay loads are putting increased demand on the vehicle foundation brakes. The application of a secondary device to assist in the braking, such as a retarder; addresses the braking issue and contributes to improved vehicle safety and reduced operating costs. Telma has developed a complete line of electromagnetic retarders that perform up to 80% of the vehicle braking and are most efficient even at lower vehicle speeds. The electromagnetic retarder thus becomes the ideal solution for city buses, emergency equipment, refuse trucks and intercity pick up and delivery trucks
