- Summary:
- The glare to pedestrians remains one of the biggest challenges since the invention of the automobile and the automobile lighting. As far as pedestrians are concerned, whether the roadside pedestrians or the pedestrians in the crossing area are almost like lambs to the slaughter. To balance the glare interference of automobile lighting and protecting pedestrians, modeling and simulation for the pedestrian glare have been theorized by the use of forest sunlight effects and a novel controlled dark photonic channel. Based on the modeling and simulation, a novel full-factors light environment control system and pedestrian glare-free lighting system have been derived. The originated modeling, simulation and system are dedicated to solving the stubborn problem of the fair lighting environment and glare to roadside pedestrians and the pedestrians in the crossing area and other objects, in which especially every living thing around the vehicle were looked at the research essentials to form a high intelligence, humanized, and human-caring automotive lighting system. As a general mechanism and underlying insight for the pedestrian glare, a controlled dark photonic channel, automatic identification, and automatic tracking and locking for the ocular region of humans, pets, animals and wildlife, drivers themselves, drivers in the vehicle ahead, and oncoming traffic, et cetera, were integrated as the whole. It is epitomized science, technology, and engineering. Importantly, the ocular region locking by the dark photonic channel means that no additional illuminated dark areas are created, which will guide the design of an automotive lighting system that meets the traffic regulations and be a fair light environment without glare
