Summary:
A superconductive magnetic levitation (maglev) system in Japan has been developed to the extent that the basic technology is almost established on the Miyazaki Maglev Test Track and now for the purpose of practical technology development the construction of a Yamanashi Maglev Test Line is underway. The technology development concerning various units to be submitted to the tests on the new test line has steadily advanced with interested parties doing their best efforts aiming at test runs on the new line. This paper describes the present status of developing the technologies of vehicle elements, which are essential for the implementation of the maglev system, including the superconducting magnet which is the core of the superconductive maglev system technology
