Summary:
Chemical kinetic mechanisms are used in computer simulations of the combustion process to develop new fuels and to improve the efficiency of engines and burners, in order to describe the chemical processes that occur during the simulation advances in the development of new mechanisms end up generating mechanisms with very high precision but with a higher computational cost. The chemical kinetics reduction process purpose to decrease the computational costs of the simulations without having a major impact on the accuracy of the simulations. This review aims to present the different methods used to reduce chemical kinetics mechanisms
