Summary:
Hydrogen is a central pillar of energy transformation required to limit global warming to two degrees. With hydrogen, annual CO2 emissions could be reduced by 3,2 Gt in 2050 compared to today in case of transportation.The core of hydrogen use is the diffusion of FCEVs and HRS. Ecological aspects of hydrogen implementation are also important. Those topics were analysed. There are 15 000 FCEVs worldwide, 378 HRS and 15 000 by 2030 at 10-15 million FCEV.There are approximately 1500 FCEVs and 120 HRS in Europe. By 2050, hydrogen could power a European fleet of 45 million passenger cars, 250 000 buses and 1.7 million trucks (hydrogen demand 675 TWh). There are plans to build more than 750 HRS by 2025.In Japan, by the end of 2017, there were 2321 FCEV (92 HRS). Japan plans 40 000 FCEVs by 2020, and 800 000 by 2030 and HRS -160 by 2020, and 900 by 2030.In the US by 2025, according to metropolitan, state and national plans, there will be respectively 91, 144.1 and 201.2 thousand FCEVs and 320, 420 and 570 HRS. CARB estimates of 2019 are 5923 FCEV and 41 open retail HRS. Current auto manufacturer-provided projections FCEV are 26 900 by 2022 and 48 000 by 2025. Predicted on the goal of reaching 200 HRS by 2025 and the 1000 station and one million FCEV by 2030.In Poland developed under HIT-2-Corridors European Project: Circumstances of the national plan for hydrogenization of road transport in Poland. It is a multi-state methodology allowing for determining locations of base HRS in Poland along TENT-T roads by 2030. Analyses also included the development of HRS infrastructure in Poland by 2050 and related ecological effects
